Horrible time getting charges removed for furniture that was returned.

Mar 9, 2008 THE ROOMSTORE complaint |
I purchased a bedroom set from the Rockford IL location. I was told that all items were in stock the day I made my purchase.
A couple of days before the delivery date, Harlem Furniture/The Room Place called to tell me that the dresser was on back order (fine...). I received my 2 nightstands and the mirror. Then about 2 weeks later they called and wanted to know what I wanted to do about my order...the set had been discontined, but they wanted to know if I still wanted to keep the 2 nightstands and the mirror...uh no!!
I was told that I could come into the store and see if I wanted to purchase the floor model at a discount. I went to the store to see the floor model. The manager on duty said he would give me $100 off of the floor model if I liked it, but I should also know that there are two other parties intersted in getting the floor model also. The floor model looked like ***. There were scratches and dings all over it. No thank you, give it the the other two people who want it...yeah right!
Anyways, I cancelled my order, and they came and picked up the pieces at my home, and I was told I would see a credit to my account. It has been 4 weeks and my Room Place charge account still hasn't been credited. They were very quick to send me my bill though before I had any furniture in my house yet, and now they are still billing me for items that I no longer have in my possesion.
I have called the store nummerous times and they say "It will be taken care of and we will mail you your receipt".
Still hasn't been taken care of and I am still being billed for the bedroom furniture that is back with the company.
I guess if you want horrible customer service and to pay for items you don't have then The Room Place is for you...If not STAY AWAY!!!
